Catching up again: home from Somerset Trip

Had a nice time visiting with Katy, Geoff and the kids in the "cottage" we shared (it was HUGE...like a manor to us, LOL!!) in Porlock village on the south Somerset coast... Kids went to beach, a country fair, on a steam train...mom's got an afternoon off to shop and eat...weather was pretty horrible, but still had a nice visit, played lots of cards, did a bit of sewing...

Now it seems like it happened a million years ago, trying to catch up with housework, look after girls, keep myself from sliding down slippery slope into bad eating habits (kids aren't even stressing me out, it is pure greediness now!!)

Aisling is turning into a right monkey...she has been walking for about 2 or so weeks, and this week is really starting to walk most of the time...and climb!!! A few days ago while doing a puzzle with Aine at the kitchen table Aisling wandered off...heard the toilet flush and then Aisling chatting away...figured she would be staring in the toilet bowl or hands in it or something...nope...she was standing on top of it!! She had climbed up! Aine never was like this...maybe cuz she walked so fast or her legs were shorter...she was never much of a climber like Aisling...

Aine is working on learning how to write her name...taught her A and she taught herself I...she is really looking forward to montessori in September, can't wait to go...she likes to play teacher these days.

Anyway...must get back in a better rhythm with the blog and with my eating habits!!

More soon!

Hi Cathi, Finn from Pieces here, nice to find your comment on my page..thank you. I do love making my quilts. Art quilts they are not..but for the most part, interesting..I hope.

I have seen your posts on either Bonnie's page, or maybe Tonya's, so I did kind of know your scoop..Ireland, etc.
I was there on tour in 1991, sure would love to come back. We mostly stayed to the south, the Ring of Kerry, etc...but did spend part of one day up in the Burren..loved it. My favorite part..go figure...*VBG* I'm looking forward to seeing your Dear Jane quilt. Will check it out on your side bar.
